Coffee Sampler Remix!

It's back!
Last year's coffee sampler was a huge success with the Sugar Rush papers but those papers sold out in a flash and when a friend came over and begged for my sampler off of my wall, it got me thinking again!
This year's sampler is full of teals and greens and a touch of pink with the Gimme Some Sugar Paper collection and coordinating cork shapes.

I've added a new cup from the You Are Here Cricut Collection and a coffee bean shape to the center of all of the "o"s in the words.

Do you want to make one?

If you order by April 16th for an earlybird discount and receive $2 off your kit.  Kits are normally $12 ea + shipping.

Local to Everett, attend my workshop on April 21st at 6pm.
(this will send you to PayPal to purchase a kit to be picked up locally)

Or order a kit to be shipped to your home.
This link includes an additional $3 for shipping.  NOTE:  You'll need to provide 1 sheet of White Daisy cardstock for the background.  I don't really want to charge anyone $7+ for shipping because of one single sheet of 12x12 sheet of paper.  I hope that makes sense.

Explosion Box Album

Hello crafty friends!

Today's post is giving you a little bit more info about a workshop I'm holding a couple times this spring.  I call it the "Important Things Box."  Last month Close to My Heart had a scrapbooking bundle called the Important Things.  It featured journaling prompts to go with specific photos.  It was a 6x8 album that was designed to help you record important aspects of your life.

I took this idea, the April Stamp of the Month and a challenge to create an explosion box and melded them all together.

An explosion box is a cube that falls open when the lid is lifted off.  Some boxes had more flaps inside, others had Easter treat baskets.  Mine's a mini album.

This album was super easy to make.  The sticky tabs on the flip flaps are used to make the album so very little additional adhesive is needed.

Supplies Used
Gimme Some Sugar Paper Pack
Bashful, Juniper and White Daisy Cardstock
3x4 and 4x4 Flip Flaps
S1804 Color Your Life
D1772 Documented Scrapbooking
D1786 Quotable Words (Available May 1)
Z4144 Peacock Stitched Ribbon
E1033 Inked Alphabet
Z2849 Peacock Ink
Z3285 Flower Market Cricut Bundle

Workshops will be held Monday, May 7th and again in early June.  Stay tuned for more fun versions.

Orca in Paradise Card

Hello friends!  Here's another card from the archives of last summer!

When I first saw this stamp set, I knew I had to have it!  Living in the Puget Sound area of Washington, there's Orcas not too far away.  (not that I've seen any of them!)

The stamp set is called "this is paradise" and was created for our Australia & New Zealand customers but anybody can order it.  It's just not show in our printed catalogs.  But it's on our website.

I noticed that the other animals are ones you'd see around the Great Barrier Reef which makes sense that it would be popular down under.  But I didn't realize that there's sub species of Orcas AKA Killer Whales all over the world and some of them are not black and white because of their diet!

The state stamp is no longer available. If I were to recreate this card with current product, I'd use our USA mini-Cricut Cartridge and cut out the Washington State image.

I embossed the Orca in Black so that I could watercolor over it for the water.

Birthday Wishes with Stargazer

Hello friends,

Today's card is one of the first cards I made in January.  My cards, like my family vacation photos, often get lost on my phone.

This card was made using pattern #1 of the new Make It From Your Heart vol 4 card making guide.  This guide has 24 patterns and 48 examples!  Only 2 months after its release and I've created cards with more than half of the patterns.  They're that fun and easy to use!

I love this How To Book.  Most of the cards are simple to assemble, don't have a lot of pieces to cut out and/or loose when I'm cutting pieces for a workshop.  This card was designed with 5 banner pieces or scraps--Just.So.Simple!  I added the white piece at the top to pull it together and make it easier to stamp for a class.

See the messy splotches on this card?  They are no mess!  Our Splash of Color stamp set makes messes on your project without making a mess on your desk!  It's so fun!

Don't forget about the happy mail!
You'll receive this card kit as my thank you when you order the Birthday Time S1803 Stamp of the Month for $5 via my website.

I'm also linking this up with the Seize the Birthday Blog challenge "Anything Goes" as long as it's birthday.

Happy 29ish birthday

Card making and scrapbooking inspiration can come from anywhere.  Today's card was inspired by what I found in the baking aisle at Winco (a local grocer) last summer when I was preparing for my son's birthday.

There's also a little bit of history to the 29 and holding idea.  We were out to celebrate my mom's  birthday and one of her grandsons asked how old she was and she replied, "29."  I remember celebrating the 20th anniversary of her 29th birthday with a handmade card was a teenager.

Back to the inspiration.  Aren't these candles fun???

I took additional inspiration from the card featured in our Seasonal Expressions catalog.  I even used Tangerine as my accent color for the pop of bright color.  I'm so glad the Teal Shimmer Trim is back for a bit.  It's now called the "Make Waves Shimmer Trim" but it's the same wonderful color as before.  Don't wait around; it will only be here for a little while longer.  The striped paper is from Chelsea Gardens.

ish is simply a circle with the letters "attached" in Design Space.  The font is from Artistry.  I love negative space items because I don't have to keep track of the teeny dot over the "i" in projects like these.  Here's a link to the file.  This file also stars for an upcoming card I created with the Stamp of the Month.  It will be on the blog soon.

Birthday Time S1803 is going to be a workhorse stamp set of your collection. It's available for just $5 with a $50 purchase this month.

Don't forget when you order BirthdayTime from my website for $5, you'll be the recipient of a happy mail kit designed by me.

P.S. If you are still reading and love teeny details, go back up to the first pic.  You'll see a sneak peek of 2 papers in the 2018 National Scrapbooking Month kit called Postcard Perfect.  I used them as my backdrop when photographing the card.  ~ Enjoy!

I'm linking this post up with seizethebirthday blog challenge "Anything Goes" as long as it's birthday challenge.

More Pretty in Pink Cards

Hello friends,

I'm back with a follow up post to my blog hop post.  I had mentioned that I had more artwork coming!

On Friday, I posted 3 cards using sketch #4 from the new Make It From Your Heart vol 4 using the Sunny Thoughts S1802 Stamp of the Month.  Here's 3 more cards using 3 more stamp sets.

Don't forget.  These cards were made using the cardstock and inks from the Pretty in Pink promotion this month where items are 20-30% off!

This one is from the Sending Prayers B1563 stamp set

This one is from All the Thanks B1536

This one is from Birthday Sparkles B1537
The background behind the circle was stamped wtih splash of Color D1733 in Bashful Exclusive Inks.  I rotated the stamp more than a quarter turn to make the splash look more random.

Here's some other sets that we have that also fit on a 2" block (in some cases)

which is also available in Spanish and French!

Don't forget, if you purchase the SOTM from me for $5, you'll receive a free card kit from me as a special thank you.  There's only 3 more days to take advantage of this free gift!

Blog Hops with Heart

Hello friends,
I know it's been ages since I've been part of a blog hop.  So here's a little reminder of how they work.  They're a fun way to visit a few blogs and end back up here.  We're all posting artwork with a common theme "Pretty in Pink."  At the bottom of my post is a link to the next blog.

If you've come from Katy's blog, welcome!  If you are just starting, you'll end back here after a few hops.

With the February 2018 Pretty in Pink special came a beautiful butterfly mobile.  This was the start of my inspiration for my cards.  You can purchase pink items for 25% off in February or select bundles for a 30% discount.

I used the butterfly from Artiste Cricut Bundle for my cards in gold foil as shown on the mobile.  You can purchase all the supplies for the mobile in a custom bundle this month or make cards like I did.

I used one of the patterns from our newest How To Book Make It From Your Heart vol 4 for this card.  This was a horizontal card but I've turned it to make it a standard upright card.  I added embossing to the Bashful piece with our Rose Embossing Folder

I used this month's Stamp Of The Month, Sunny Thoughts S1802.
I did a little surgical alteration of my stamps.  This is the stamp that used to say "hello sunshine"
I used the cork shapes from Gimme Some Sugar to embellish my cards because I liked the additional texture they added and they're super flat for mailing.  I started with the Gold Glitter Gems that are part of the Pretty in Pink sale but ultimately stuck with the cork ones.

This one used to to say "wishing you warm birthday wishes."  This one was a little more tricky to alter but not a problem with our micro tip scissors.

The Thank You stamp was the only one who escaped stamp surgery. All of the sentiments were stamped in Raspberry ink.

Behind the circle I stamped the square from Splash Of Color D1733.

This stamp set isn't solid and looks best when layered.  In this case I rotated the squarish stamp more than 90° between impressions.  I used Bashful ink.

There are tons of stamps you can use for these cards that fit in a 2.25" circle.  Check back for my next post featuring these cards with 3 other stamp sets and more details on my box.

And today, Friday 2/23 there's a Flash Sale and as I'm writing this post, I have no idea what's going to be part of the sale so please give it a peek.  It will open in a new window so you don't loose your spot in the blog hop.

ATTENTION:  the Rose Embossing folder for this project is on sale as well as all of our physical Cricut Cartridge bundles!   Between this and the Pretty in Pink sale nearly everything but the white cardstock used on my card is on sale!

Don't forget, if you purchase the SOTM from me, you'll receive a few card kit from me as a special thank you.

Whew!  That was a lot of eye candy for one blog hop post! Please keep hoping to Jayma's post to see more pink!
