Heartfelt Hexagon Peekaboo Mosaic

This week I've been preparing for my technique workshop that I'll be hosting in my home on Thursday, April 30th.  Unlike a kit-together, I'll be leading guests through cards with stamping, inking, embossing, fun folds and more!  I wanted to create a card with the Nature Walk Collection.  The card that I had planned, I already had taught in a team meeting and I lacked supplies for another class.  I decided to create a "scrap" card using 3 different sheets of the DSP and I would have enough for a dozen of these cards.

The Heartfelt Hexagon punch also has just landed on the Last Chance section.  I really wanted a chance to teach this mosaic technique.  I learned it from my friend Melissa Smith only a couple months after becoming a Demonstrator 2 years ago.

The first card I created is the center one with the Nature Walk Suite.  This will be the card we create in 2 weeks at my home in Everett, WA.

I know not everyone can afford a plane ticket to come see me so I created a video showing how create these cards.

Click here to see the video if the preview doesn't work.

I created this card with Mother's Day in mind.  I don't have a Happy Mother's Day stamp in my SU! stash, but this one from the 12 Days of Crafting Advent Kit is perfect.  The adorable teeny butterflies are from the Cutest Crew Dies.  The Cutest Crew is next on my list to create with!

I thought the first card looked like a turtle shell which inspired me to grab the Turtley Cute Designer Series paper.

This takes me back to my first card that I created this year using this technique.  This one doesn't have the peekaboo window.

This one used the December Product of the Month True Blue Florals and Prayers & Promises stamp set.  I really love this set that's not only for sympathy cards, but also for anyone going through a struggle.  Isn't that all of us?

Working backwards in time, here's the card I created with Melissa in 2024.

Now here's the current news:  Turtley Cute is just one of MANY items that are in our Last Chance category.  When they sell out, they'll be retired.

Since this post started with me talking about workshops, I'm going to end there too.
The events on Mondays are kit workshops.  Buy a mini-kit for $10, 1 each of 3 designs, or the whole kit for $30 which is 3 of each card and includes stamps, inks and everything included in the box.

The Thursday workshop at my home is a technique workshop featuring cards I designed filled with techniques and new products. You'll learn tons and get to play with a wide variety of tools and products.  The best part is it is FREE with a $40 order from my website (after discounts) and before shipping / tax.  Not interested in shopping?  You can also pay $18 for the class.

All of these events are available on my  CraftyLalia Facebook Page

Merry Makers & More is a workshop I just started hosting at the library.  It's focused on Christmas cards for seniors.  I'm partnering with Merry Makers who are the local group who make cards for Santa for Seniors.  I've added the "& More" because I am not limiting it to Christmas Card Makers.

For years, my motto has been: 💌 “Bringing friends together with paper.”  Because let’s be honest—cardmaking is more fun when it’s shared.

That’s exactly why I created Merry Makers & More—a monthly meet-up right here in Snohomish County where creativity and community come together. No pressure. No expectations. Just a welcoming space to create, learn, and connect with others who love paper crafting as much as you do.

This year, I'm planning to teach a different Christmas tree technique each month.  Last month I taught how to fold a half circle to make a dimensional Christmas Tree.  Here's my tutorial.

The next meetup is this coming Friday, April 24th.  I'll be teaching another Christmas Tree technique.

I'm still doing workshops in Everett! And more news

A couple people have recently asked if I'm doing workshops.  The answer is a HUGE Yes!  I'm hosting 4 events a month at the moment.

Mondays are at Butter Notes Cafe at 909 North Broadway in Everett.

I have two times:
Daytime 1pm to 3:30 on the 2nd Tuesday of the month
Evening 6 to 8pm on the 4th Tuesday of the month

This is a great coffee & dessert shop with free parking.  My events usually are 3 cards for $10. You can select from several kits.  Pre-registering for $10 will get you a bonus card to create.
My featured card kit will be $10 but you can upgrade to bigger kits when you arrive.

April Featured Kits

Each kit features one each of 3 card designs for $10

Happy Happenings

My 3rd workshop is at my home.  This one is FREE with purchase or $18.
We'll create 5 unique cards that I've designed using current stamps & papers from Stampin' Up!  You'll see a fun fold, some coloring, use embossing folders and more!

Merry Makers is a group of cardmakers in the area and beyond who craft all year to create Christmas Cards for Seniors in Washington State.  I've offered to host a week-day meet-up at my local library.  I'll teach a technique for creating a Christmas Tree with paper scraps and have a cutting guide.

Last month's Tutorial is here on FB
It's featured a half circle folded into a tree shape.  My April Tutorial is almost complete and it involves no folding.

This is bring your own supplies and 100% free event and is geared for all abilities.  It is very beginner friendly!  Please bring at least 8 A2 sized card bases, coordinating Christmas or red & green themed paper, paper trimmer, adhesive, embellishments and anything else you want to use that day.  There will be a few items to borrow or share at the event.  You can donate your card that day or keep them for donation later in the year.

I call this a "& More" group because I'm not strictly limiting this to Merry Makers.  Everybody is welcome.  Kindly RSVP so I can be sure there's enough tables.  At this time, I only reserved half of the expandable classroom.

All of my events are on my CraftyLalia Facebook Page
