October Stamp of the Month

Welcome to our Stamp of the Month Blog Hop!  We will be featuring October's SOTM, which is Home for the Holidays, a set of 7 Cricut Compatible stamps.  If you have come here from Beth's Blog you are on the right path! The blog hop is a great big circle, so you can start here and work your way all around.  If you get lost along the way, you’ll find the complete list of participating consultants on Melinda’s Blog.

This month we have over 70 Close To My Heart Consultants sharing their creations using this month's SOTM and other great CTMH products on their blogs. This is simple to do - just click on the link at the end of the post on each blog to move to the next one! Here we go!

Isn't the timing perfect for this stamp set?  You'll have at least 2 months to create tags, cards and other goodies with it this year!  See the red lines?  Each one corresponds to a shape from the Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge!

Home from the Holidays CTMH October 2014 Stamp of the Month

I created this box of gift tags in preparation for an upcoming bags & tags workshop.  I cut the tags from Art Philosophy as per the sizes listed on the stamp carrier sheet.  The  gable box was cut at "fit to page" from the Artiste cartridge out of Glacier cardstock.

My tags are very simple.  I didn't want to complicate things because I wanted this project to be simple enough to reproduce for quick gifts.  There's a little bit of layering and masking and that's it.  The circles were a cinch!  A 1" punch works perfectly!

I used the Ruby Mini Medley Accent Collection for the shimmery Ruby baker's twine and the clothes pin.

Now "Hop" on over to Jean's Blog to see her work! Be sure to visit all the Consultants at their Blogs to get some great crafting ideas and other fun ideas! Remember, the October SOTM is only available until the 31st!  It's only $5 with any $50 purchase from my website or just $17.95 like all other D-sized stamps.  Click here to shop.

Washi Tape Card

Friday morning I whipped out this adorable card using washi tape in place of any patterned paper for that evening's workshop.
CCTMH Lifting Spirits Stamp set & Lagoon Washi Tape | Card by Lalia Harris @ www.CraftyLalia.com

I used the new Lagoon Heart washi tape in three rows starting at the bottom and over lapping a tiny bit so the pattern stayed consistent.  I ripped a little extra off the roll,  placed it on the card and trimmed it with my NON-STICK microtip scissors.  The top row is the Ruby Chevron Washi Tape.
These scissors simply rock and are essential if you cut 3D foam tape or washi tape.

I really love the washi that we have right now.  It sticks better than any I've had before--from a store or our older catalogs.  If you've had a problem in the past, please don't give up.  Give it another try!

The balloon and sentiment are from Lifting Spirits stamp set.  I colored in the balloon with my new Shin-Han Markers, in Peacock Green, Turquoise Blue, Carmine, Clay, and Golden Yellow.  I also used the clear blender to give a bit of "shine" or highlight to the top curve of the hot air balloon!

I didn't blend any two markers together but I did go over the same area a couple times to develop shadows and dimension on the hot air balloon.

Enjoy!

Don't forget there's only a couple more days left to get the #30YearsOfHappy STAMP SET for FREE!  (Yes, the stamp set really does have a # hashtag or pound sign in its name!)

When you add $30 of stamps to your shopping cart and you'll be prompted to receive your free stamp set. Click here to start shopping!

Introducing Seasonal Samplers

How would you like to make something beautiful for your home that you can display every day?  Is that better than hiding it in a scrapbook?

How about creating and finishing a project in one afternoon or evening with girlfriends?

Maybe you love to be a bit crafty and come home with a beautiful piece for your wall and no extra "junk" to put away.

I have a great workshop for you!  P.S. I'll be creating kits that are easy to ship and do on your own!

Seasonal Samplers

You can create 1 or as many of the monthly kits as you like.  They'll all fit in our new beautiful shadowbox frame.  When you purchase the frame & 7 samplers, you'll get your 8th sampler free!

You can order the shadow box frame here or at any time you RSVP for a workshop.  It is NOT required to attend any workshop but you'll love how beautiful this frame looks compared to the plain ones from the craft store.  It's available in Black & Colonial White.  All of the projects you see will be using the Black frame.

National Stamping Month Blog Hop

September is National Stamping Month.  I think we should call it INTERnational Stamping Month but we’d have to change the acronym NSM.  With that we have a special Blog Hop featuring the exclusive NSM stamp set.  If you have come here from {Heather’s Blog}  you are on the right path! The blog hop is a great big circle, so you can start here and work your way all around. If you get lost along the way, you’ll find the complete list of participating consultants on Melinda’s Blog: http://ifyoublingit.blogspot.com/p/stamp-of-month-blog-hop-list.html.
This year’s National Stamping Month we’re celebrating Close to My Heart’s 30’s birthday with #30YearsOfHappy.  There’s 30 stamps to celebrate too!  It’s FREE when you place a $30 STAMP order this month.  (It has to be stamps, since this is National Stamping Month).
Here’s what the set looks like.  Isn’t it adorable?1409-cc-nsm-b

I ended up creating this adorable treat bag that's isn't so boo-ish with our stamps and the Cut Above™  treat bags that just came out!

I didn't use the stickers that were enclosed with the bag kit.
I stamped the #30yearsofhappy on white cardstock and punched it out with my 1" punch.  They fit perfectly on the top of a Reece's mini-Peanut Butter Cup with a glue dot!  I'm excited to make up a bunch of these for the team of great people.  (I'm not saying who quite yet!)

They fit so well in these bags!

I used the You Mean the World to Me stamp set.  It's just $9.95 but a workhorse of a stamp set!

If you're looking into getting the treat bags you may also want the Sweet Salutations which was specially designed for these treat bags and are sized perfectly for the circles that are included in the kit.

Don't forget, #30YearsOfHappy is FREE with a $30 purchase in STAMPS and is only available in September 2014!
When you have $30 of qualifying stamps in your cart, it will prompt you to add the free set to your shopping cart!

Now on to the next blog which belongs to {Lilian Yeh}  There’s about 40 of us participating so you’ll see plenty of inspiration for these stamp sets!  Come back soon!
