My card was made simply by taking the large flourish on the left side of the stamp set and stamping with Crème Brulee.  I never knew I would love Crème Brulee’s color by looking at it in the catalog but it’s been my go-to yellow/gold for the last 6 months!  I meant this card to be a Valentine for my husband but I forgot about it and made another one at the very last minute!  Oh well, so much for planning ahead!

Improvising

While working on a project for a challenge this week, I came up short on some items.  I don’t have any of these little beauties from CTMH.  And I need them now. 

So I decided to improvise. 

Using one of the B&T papers from the Lucy collection, I cut the scalloped rose on my Cricut using my Art Philosophy cartridge at 1.75.”  I turned down the speed to medium and made certain my paper was well adhered to the mat. 
Here’s my tip for rolling such small items:  Spray them with water or a mix of rubbing alcohol mixed with our Perfect Pear paints in a Mini Mister and start by wrapping them around our piercing tool.  The paper had to be soft and flexible in order to make a smooth roll, otherwise it would have just folded at the bottom of each petal. 
Aside from the spritzing, they didn’t take any longer than a big flower.  I rolled all 6 while watching a movie with my sweetheart.  They held their shape until this afternoon when I glued them together with Liquid Glass.

A Garden My Acrylix® stamp set A1119

Friday night, I created a couple of new cards using the new stamp set “A Garden” featured in the 2012 Spring & Summer Idea Book when I was paper crafting with some of my Sassy Scrapper girlfriends.
