Orca in Paradise Card

Hello friends!  Here's another card from the archives of last summer!

When I first saw this stamp set, I knew I had to have it!  Living in the Puget Sound area of Washington, there's Orcas not too far away.  (not that I've seen any of them!)

The stamp set is called "this is paradise" and was created for our Australia & New Zealand customers but anybody can order it.  It's just not show in our printed catalogs.  But it's on our website.

I noticed that the other animals are ones you'd see around the Great Barrier Reef which makes sense that it would be popular down under.  But I didn't realize that there's sub species of Orcas AKA Killer Whales all over the world and some of them are not black and white because of their diet!

The state stamp is no longer available. If I were to recreate this card with current product, I'd use our USA mini-Cricut Cartridge and cut out the Washington State image.

I embossed the Orca in Black so that I could watercolor over it for the water.

Birthday Wishes with Stargazer

Hello friends,

Today's card is one of the first cards I made in January.  My cards, like my family vacation photos, often get lost on my phone.

This card was made using pattern #1 of the new Make It From Your Heart vol 4 card making guide.  This guide has 24 patterns and 48 examples!  Only 2 months after its release and I've created cards with more than half of the patterns.  They're that fun and easy to use!

I love this How To Book.  Most of the cards are simple to assemble, don't have a lot of pieces to cut out and/or loose when I'm cutting pieces for a workshop.  This card was designed with 5 banner pieces or scraps--Just.So.Simple!  I added the white piece at the top to pull it together and make it easier to stamp for a class.

See the messy splotches on this card?  They are no mess!  Our Splash of Color stamp set makes messes on your project without making a mess on your desk!  It's so fun!

Don't forget about the happy mail!
You'll receive this card kit as my thank you when you order the Birthday Time S1803 Stamp of the Month for $5 via my website.

I'm also linking this up with the Seize the Birthday Blog challenge "Anything Goes" as long as it's birthday.

Happy 29ish birthday

Card making and scrapbooking inspiration can come from anywhere.  Today's card was inspired by what I found in the baking aisle at Winco (a local grocer) last summer when I was preparing for my son's birthday.

There's also a little bit of history to the 29 and holding idea.  We were out to celebrate my mom's  birthday and one of her grandsons asked how old she was and she replied, "29."  I remember celebrating the 20th anniversary of her 29th birthday with a handmade card was a teenager.

Back to the inspiration.  Aren't these candles fun???

I took additional inspiration from the card featured in our Seasonal Expressions catalog.  I even used Tangerine as my accent color for the pop of bright color.  I'm so glad the Teal Shimmer Trim is back for a bit.  It's now called the "Make Waves Shimmer Trim" but it's the same wonderful color as before.  Don't wait around; it will only be here for a little while longer.  The striped paper is from Chelsea Gardens.

ish is simply a circle with the letters "attached" in Design Space.  The font is from Artistry.  I love negative space items because I don't have to keep track of the teeny dot over the "i" in projects like these.  Here's a link to the file.  This file also stars for an upcoming card I created with the Stamp of the Month.  It will be on the blog soon.

Birthday Time S1803 is going to be a workhorse stamp set of your collection. It's available for just $5 with a $50 purchase this month.

Don't forget when you order BirthdayTime from my website for $5, you'll be the recipient of a happy mail kit designed by me.

P.S. If you are still reading and love teeny details, go back up to the first pic.  You'll see a sneak peek of 2 papers in the 2018 National Scrapbooking Month kit called Postcard Perfect.  I used them as my backdrop when photographing the card.  ~ Enjoy!

I'm linking this post up with seizethebirthday blog challenge "Anything Goes" as long as it's birthday challenge.
