February Stamp of the Month Blog Hop

Welcome to our Stamp of the Month Blog Hop! We will be featuring February’s SOTM, “Home Sweet Home” which is  a set of 4 stamps. If you have come here from Tamytha’s blog you are on the right path! The blog hop is a great big circle, so you can start here and work your way all around. If you get lost along the way, you’ll find the complete list of participating consultants here on Helen’s blog.
This stamp set is $17.95 or just $5 with a $50 purchase.  It’s number is S1302A.  Do you know how they get their number?  S is for Stamp of the month, 13 is for 2013, and 02 is for February.  I know somebody out there had an “ah-ha moment.” If that wasn’t you give yourself a big pat on the back.
Card-tag Feb SOTM Flirty papers Art Philosophy Cricut, also Girls Rock stamp set together
My card is a pocket card made from a pattern on page 81 of in Jeanette Lynton’s first card making book “Originals Card Confidence Program.”
originals book
These were discontinued a year ago. But with much feedback to CTMH, they’re baaaaaackkkkkk! This time it’s a soft cover edition and only $14.95! It’s item # 9036. I didn’t own this book until recently so I’ve been trying out many of the patterns because they are new to me.  So what’s old is new again!   (FYI—these links will only work after 2/1/13)
This card features the new Chantilly paper pack, Pink Glitter Gems and another new stamp set called “Girls Rock”  The tag & house were cut on the Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge as well as the flower & leaves that were stamped with the new Girl’s Rock stamp set.  I hand cut (**gasp**)  the word “home” and “you” after stamping them in Twilight on a scrap of paper.  I promise you, it wasn't hard to cut out these two words.   You’ll survive without your Cricut cartridges for a moment.  I did.  You’ll also need cotton candy & pear inks and a scrap or two of Outdoor Denim and Ruby Cardstock.

This is one of the 4 sentiments in this set.  Here’s what comes in the whole set.  You’ll love these for scrapbooking and card making.  If you love quotations, you’ll be delighted with the new Idea Book that launches tomorrow morning on February 1st.  Pages 90 & 91 have two more stamp sets with quotations!  If you need an Idea Book, let me know via this link.

Be Still Card

Last weekend I made this card with our new stamp “Be Still” A1141.  I rarely do “Clean And Simple” AKA CAS cards but I thought this was a great stamp to do it with.  So simple.  And looks so much better in person.

Card-Be Still and know that I am God in Twilight

I love this sentiment. It seems to be the message I need to hear this year. I’ve been seeing and hearing it everywhere I go. How about you?  Does it resonate in your life too?

Have a great weekend!

Happy Valentine Halloween Birthday?

Just kidding about this being a mixed up card.  It really is a lovely birthday card.
It's just that the supply list is a little mixed up:  This card is made with our Halloween themed paper called Moonlight which is retiring at the end of month (it’s still available!) and January’s “Happy Valentines” Stamp of the month.  This is truly a very versatile paper pack.  There’s no ghosts or spooks. It’s an elegant mix of black, green, orange and purple with some really cute big-eyed owls thrown in!
Card-Moonlight with Happy Valentines Day SOTM and Joyful Birthdays Stamp
The card is completed with “Joyful Birthday” (it’s in the Spring & Summer 2013 Idea Book) and my watercolor pencils.  I love these watercolor pencils because unlike regular colored pencils, your coloring can be streak-free in seconds when you go over your work with a blending pen.

Don’t forget, we still have a few of the Whooo’s Your Valentine kits left!  These kits are "While Supplies Last" and I'm surprised they lasted this long!  The die-cut boxes come in two shades of pink, ruby red and white.  I'm saving my red and white ones for later!  They're going to be great for birthdays or summer celebrations too!  The tubes themselves will be available in March through our new Idea Book;  6 tubes for $5.95!  So why not get some extras including the brightest and shiniest 12x12 sheet of glitter paper that's too bright to look at under the cloudy skies of Seattle for $10?

For $10, you'll get 12 treat tubes, 12 die-cut boxes, 3 sheets of 12x12 cardstock, 1 sheet of that fabulous silver glitter paper and this ultra cute stamp set with two owls.

They’re $10 with a $35 purchase.  If you love the Stamp of the Month, you'll be only a couple of dollars away from earning it for just $5 when you add the Whooo's Your Valentine kit to your cart. Isn't CTMH fabulous?  They're letting us stack the promotions this month!   Shop online and see what I mean!

For Always Birthday Card

Good afternoon,
Here’s a card I created for a team swap this week.  It’s featuring 4 new products in the Spring and Summer Idea Book.
For Always is a great black and white paper pack that’s going to be so versatile.  As soon as I get another stamp set called “The Happy Couple” I’m going to swap the sentiment out to make a congrats card for a couple getting married soon.  That’s the great thing about making a card with the sentiment at the bottom.  One design will make unlimited possibilities!
The sentiment is from my favorite stamp set, “Joyful Birthday.”  It’s just four birthday sentiments.  Two are horizontal like the one below.  Two are stacked (Happy above the word birthday).  I used a different stamp image on the Buzz & Bumble card I made last week.
For Always Birthday card with Girls Rock Flower Artiste Border Black Tulle Ribbon and Claire Assortment
Recognize the flower?  It’s the same one from this blog post with the beautiful and colorful cascading card.    I added a little sparkle to the flower with the new to last fall silver metallic marker.  I just followed the stamped dots around the center of the flower.  I also popped one of these new self adhesive flowers in the middle.  It’s part of the Claire Assortment.  I also added a bitty sparkle to the center.  The black tulle was introduced last fall but I was so busy making Christmas cards, I never had much of a chance to play with it.  It’s very fun and versatile.  You also get 10 yards of it!
For always birthday card CTMH Artiste Art Philosophy Claire Assortment metallic marker and bitty sparkles
I was sneaky when cutting the border from Ruby Cardstock.  It's actually the "belly band" for a card in Artiste.  You'll find it on page 41 of the Artiste hand book under shift-card.  As this is part of a larger project (the card), you'll want to use the Real Dial Size feature on your Cricut.  And at that, it still wasn't quite to the real size.  For this card, I cut it at 2 3/4" tall and it came out about 1 1/2" tall (so much for real dial size).  Then I cut it in half length-wise for the card.  You'll get enough for two cards which I'm all for.  There will be a couple little score marks created as this was supposed to fold around a card. However, they're hardly noticeable and not an issue.

I’m linking this card up to the Close to My Heart color dare challenge blog this week.  Their challenge was “Black & White with a "pop" of One Other Color.”  You can see the rest of the entries here.
I can’t wait to share these new products with you!  If you’d like an Idea Book, let me know!  They’re free, just pay any shipping!  I’ll even refund their shipping when you place an order over $40!  Click here to request one.

Have a great day!

Stella Artwork

The Stella papers were the first to sell out this winter.  They were very fun to work with!  Here’s a couple cards I created with them.
This first one was created for a team meeting with fellow CTMH consultants.  I was honored that they voted it as their favorite that day!
It’s made using the CTMH Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge, (this was before Artiste was launched)  The card base matches the shape that was layered on top.  It was a cinch to cut out.  There’s a flower vase too.  I cut it using the Real Dial size setting at 1.5.”    The stamp set is "A GARDEN.  It’s a great stamp set and it only $6.95!
Stella A garden Hello Swap CTMH Close to My Heart Art Philosphy Cricut
This card was created with the exact same paper pack.  The stamp set is “Say it in Style” and was discontinued last July.  It was the first CTMH stamp set I ever purchased. You may have seen it elsewhere.  it's all over Pinterest.  I pinned it from Christina Eisenhour's blog a long time ago.
April Workshop 3
Notice that both cards feature butterflies?  I didn't create them at the same time, nor are they same butterfly from the the Art Philosophy Cricut.  I just like butterflies and they make very easy card accents.

Buzz and Bumble

Buzz and Bumble with Mojo Monday 276

Today’s card is made from the new Buzz and Bumble paper pack from the 2013 spring and summer idea book.  Unlike Chantilly, it has a very earthy and organic feel to it.  I think it has a bit of masculine feel to it too all while being a paper pack that I’d call a summer floral.  Could this be the perfect all-around paper pack?

I paired it with the new Joyful Birthday stamp set B1419 which has 4 versions of “Happy Birthday” in varying fonts and flair.  I love having one stamp set that I can go to and then pick the mood of the sentiment from there.  We also have a burlap baker’s twine!  It’s a fun pairing of baker’s twine and the burlap that we were introduced to last fall but without any mess and virtually no burlap smell.  Smile  It’s part of the new Wooden Mini-Medley Accents Collection.  More coming on that soon!

Last but not least, this card is designed from this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch which I’ll be linking up to before the end of the day.

Hope you have some time to craft today!  Stay tuned for more cards.  I’m off to design cards for my “Fun & Fabulous 4th Friday” card workshop that’s coming in 7 days (after I finish homeschooling, grocery shopping and swim lessons).  Let me know if you want to come.  Email me for details or to RSVP for next Friday night!

Avonlea cards

In continuing my posts of artwork, I’m delighted to say that Avonlea papers are going to be around for another 6 months.  However, the WORKSHOPS ON THE GO® AVONLEA CARDMAKING KIT will only be available while supplies last.

I made the 1st three cards using the Workshop on the Go.  The last two I designed myself so that my workshop attendees would have 5 cards to create last October.  As I was designing these cards for a large workshop, I changed the ribbon around a bit so I wouldn’t run out.

Avonlea WOTG CTMH using Art Philosophy and Artiste Cricut Card Just Because Card

When making the above card, you’ll want to make it before the next card.  If you make a boo-boo stamping the lace border, you can always cover it up with the paper in the next card!  No wasted card bases!

Avonlea WOTG CTMH using Art Philosophy and Artiste Cricut Card Wishing You Well

This next card was based on a sketch from another CTMH card project.  This flower was cut from the Art Philosophy cartridge and sparkled with Stardust Glitz.

Avonlea WOTG CTMH using Art Philosophy and Artiste Cricut Card

This card was inspired by something I saw here on Pinterest.  The base of the purse was half of one of the label shapes on Art Philosophy.  The top of the purse was cut using half of a shape from Artiste.  The leaves, and banner are also from Artiste.  I love how flexible our stamps are.  I bent the sentiment to the curve of the banner and then placed it on the block!  The same with the lace banner on the first card.  I was a straight border stamp to begin with.  I used the stampset called A FRIEND LIKE YOU for this last card.  You’ll need a AVONLEA PAPER PACKET to complete it because it uses different papers from the same paper pack.

I have two more sets of these cards available.  Pre-stamped, ready to assemble,  they are $15 each + shipping.  Email me if you are interested.

Cascading Card

Here’s my first card from the 2013 CTMH Idea Book!  It’s a cascading card, a design that I’ve been wanting to try since I saw one last summer.  When I saw this stamp set, I knew it would be a good fit and started putting together the base shortly after ordering my 2013 Idea Book preview materials.   Check back, I hope to publish a tutorial on making this card.

This paper pack is Chantilly. You’re only seeing a glimpse of the paper. It’s the green background behind the Buttercup yellow flower and the bird. I cut that little guy from the other side of the same paper. The stamp set is Girls Rock C1538 and it’s compatible with the Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge! The only thing I cut by hand was the little birdy in this whole card!

One addition to the new Idea Book is a color pallet for each paper pack! This helped immensely in pulling together the inks I wanted to use for this card!

Here’s the card when closed.  It can easily be mailed.

Cascading Card flattened

We have new bling!  We have Green & Blue Epoxy bubbles.  They’re nicely sized and so easy to work with.  The smallest is 4mm which you can see on the butterfly below.  We also have Pink Glitter Gems.  They’re great!  With the glitter, almost every shade will look great on a project.  I’m not worried about having leftovers.  I’m just wondering why I only ordered one pack.

Pemberley Artwork

Recently I realized that I’ve been posting my artwork on my Facebook Page but no my blog.  And there are so many of you who don’t use Facebook and would never have the opportunity to see this artwork.  I better get busy because Pemberley is a paper pack that’s being retired at the end of the month, if it doesn’t sell out before then like Stella and Florentine already have.

Below is a picture of the artwork by Janene Wawro, sister consultant who designed this card kit.  I want you to see what a full set looks like before I show you my cards.  One thing you’ll love is that all of these cards can be cut, stamped and put together in under an hour!

It takes just 1 sheet of double sided Pemberley paper, one package of Pemberley Stickease, a few pearls, 6-8 card bases in Colonial White, a sheet of colonial white cardstock for stamping and your choice of sentiments.  Janene used “'Card Chatter-Sympathy.”   I used a variety of sentiment stamp sets.  We made them as a workshop back in spring 2012.

Here’s the cutting guide for the cards above:

Cut two 5-1/4 strips from the 12x12 paper, with a 1.5” strip remaining.  Take the wider strips  and cut into narrower strips at the following sizes.

Here’s a few of my cards, I used CARD CHATTER—SYMPATHY4 MY FRIEND and JUST A NUMBER.  I’ve sent a few of them and created two sets so you’ll see a few repeats and some missing.  (That’s why I posted Janene’s original pic above)

Pemberley stickease 1 before Artiste Cricut Cartridge Magazine File

I created a little magazine file to hold the cards.  This was only a couple months before the Artiste cartridge was announced and it has a much simpler to create magazine file.

These two cards used the same layout, but they are flipped.  I moved the scalloped border down a bit and it changed the appearance completely.

You will have several of the My Stickease left over.  Feel free to make a few other cards or decorate a magazine file box to hold your cards.
