It’s an Easter hop!

Happy spring my friends!  To celebrate spring and upcoming Easter the Evergreen Memories Team have joined together to feature an Easter Blog Hop!  What’s a blog hop?  We’re linking our blogs together so you can hop from one to the next without any difficulty at all.  So if you’ve already been hopping, you’ve come from Tracie’s blog. 
Last month we had a wonderful Studio J promotion.  I scrapped almost all of my 2012 pictures in a couple of weeks!  Here’s my Easter layout with last year’s pictures.  I used the Chantilly paper pack in StudioJ to make a beautiful spring layout.  As I’m the only girl in my house, I try to make my layouts not too frilly all while being bright and beautiful.  Chantilly does that.  Do you realize it includes Twlight and Outdoor Denim in its color pallet?  This helps make some very balanced layouts!

The title Easter Blessings is the alphabet stickers that are part of the Chantilly My Stickease in Studio J.  Those cute little flowers were already a part of the font!  It was so simple!  I was also so pleased that I could rotate my journaling box on the diagonal so that it matched the direction of the box.  I did by adding a NEW text box.  Don’t try to do this with one of the text boxes that came in the pre-designed template; they are fixed and can’t be resized or rotated.

Studio J–16 dinosaurs scrapped!

The thought of scrapping 16 pictures in a single layout was a bit daunting before I uploaded my pictures to Studio J.  I had no desire to print and crop all these little dinosaurs.  Studio J was so easy.  For fun and a little information, I added the names of the dinosaurs to the ribbon.  I was able to copy and paste their names from a website which saved time in typing and spell checking too.  There’s no way I could have done that in classic scrapping.

Studio J ~ Perfect Placement Tutorial

 

Adding My Stickease accents is a great way to personalize and dress up your layout.  Here’s a tutorial on layering these to give them a hand-scrapped look.  It helps to think of Studio J scrapping much like classic paper scrapping.  You layer your photos and embellishments so that one overlaps another.  You are be able to do the same in Studio J.

Love Your Layout October Edition

I’ve been tinkering with Studio J this summer but never stopped long enough to learn tricks from the best.  Close to My Heart has release video mini-tutorials for StudioJ which are fabulous.  They give you some simple tips to enhance your digital layouts while saving time.  I’ll be posting some of the older ones in coming weeks.  If you can’t wait, you can go directly to the CTMHcorp YouTube Channel.

It pays to go digital…. Studio J

I created this layout using the CTMH StudioJ online scrapbooking.  It has 16 pictures.  Can you imagine how long it would have taken to create this using classic scrapbooking methods?  Cropping 12 photos down to just the right size, just for starters.  Oh yeah, don’t forget the other 4. 

It took me about 30 minutes and most of that time was selecting from pictures and typing my journaling.  I’m really slow at journaling.  Really slow.

What I’m trying to say is that most of my time was spent doing the things that all scrappers do.  Choosing the right words and the right pictures.  But after that, I was able to plop them into a layout and be done.  Can you say that about your scrapbooking?
