LEGO ™ style birthday card

Last week my son’s buddy from school had a birthday.  He’s a lover of all things Lego ™ so I thought a card made of building blocks would be fun.  I simply punched a few round circles and popped them up with foam squares.  I had cut my card base before determining the size of my blocks so they were a little too big to go all the way across the card perfectly.  I actually think it adds to the character of the card.

Do you recognize the “It’s a Celebration” stamp?  It’s a brand new stamp and it has NOT been featured in an Idea Book.  It was a gift to our Aussie consultants this spring.  They were so popular and fun that we begged CTMH to let us us them as well!  It’s from Hoppy Birthday D1597.  It’s one of 6 sets found in our Occasions stamp collections that were made for our Down Under friends.

Here’s the inside of the card.  More blocks and a simple Happy Birthday sentiment from our Joyful Birthday stamp set which is one of my favorites from last spring.

I can’t wait to play with this Hoppy Birthday stamp set more and color some adorable animals!

I've linked this up to Fabulous Cricut Challenge Blog, Challenge #200: Pick A Holiday.  Hop over there and see some other great projects!  I was inspired to join this challenge by Amy HS and her birthday card.  Take a look, she's one of the designers for this blog!  Go Amy!

Have a great start to your week!

  1. This is really cute Lalia! Love the lego look and I'm going to sit down and make one of these! I just became aware of the Aussie stamps too.. and had decided to do a blog post on them, but haven't yet. This inspires me to get with it and just do it! Thanks so much for this post!

    1. I'm glad you liked it Marilyn! Here's a tip. I started with my punch and measured my paper to be 3x as wide as the punch. That gives good spacing for the circles. To make a rectangle 2x4 brick you'll want to make it twice as long as it is wide. Enjoy! *Ü*
