4 Card Wonder Stamping Tutorial

Hello, crafty friends!

This month, I've been absolutely delighted to dive into the world of flowers instead of holiday images! With the launch of the Online Exclusives, I've become completely smitten with the Happy Hibiscus bundle. I've lost track of how many cards I've made with this set, and I know I'll keep creating more.

A fun technique I've been using is the 4-card wonder. It's a fantastic way to maximize your stamping time and create multiple cards with minimal effort. I've already made four sets using this technique!

Recently, I documented the process of creating a 4-card wonder set with the Flowers of Beauty bundle. It was a delightful experience, even though my cardstock pieces seemed to shrink with each rendition of the 4 card wonder! This just goes to show how versatile this technique is—you can adjust the size to your liking.

First, I cut my base piece of cardstock and scored it in the middle vertically & horizontally so I have 4 panels of equal size.  This piece is 5" by 7.5" and will be for all 4 cards.  I edited this phot to show where I created the score lines for your reference.

I stamped the largest flower first.  Some of the flowers dominated one quadrant more than the other so I alternated where they would be dominant.  I added the small flowers and the bitty greenery.  When done, I cut it apart.

Once cut apart, each piece was 3.75" wide and 2.5" tall.  I added sentiments from Unbounded Love Stamp set in Berry Burst and matted them with Berry Burst Cardstock.  I embossed  4.25x 5.5" pieces of cardstock with Layered Flowers 3D embossing folder.

I chose to not use the colors from the Unbounded Beauty paper pack.  I don't own all of the ink colors quite yet.  Instead, I based my colors on the new Color Coach that Stampin' Up released this month.  Berry Burst, Crushed Curry, and Lost Lagoon. These colors are triadic, or form a perfect triangle across from each other on the color wheel.  This Color Coach ™ is available to everyone on the Stampin'Up! website.

Here's my finished cards.  My favorite embellishments, the Brush Brass Butterflies, are used on these cards.  They're shiny, unique and flat so my mail carrier won't ask for extra postage.

Now back to the Happy Hibiscus!  I used the 4 card wonder method on a full sheet of cardstock 8.5x11" and stamped Happy Hibiscus in Daffodil Delight and Crushed Curry.  I trimmed a 1/4" from the panels to expose a little bit of the Crumb Cake cardstock used as the card base.

I also recreated them using purples when a friend asked me about some hibiscus that weren't yellow.   I used the "puddle pad" technique to stamp the solid part of the flowers.  This puddle pad is created by using foam or in my case, a baby wipe and puddling ink refill onto it.  For this set of cards, I used 2 shades of purple & two shades of pink.  These bottles of ink are Re-inkers from Close to My Heart.  They're great for all sorts of projects in addition to refilling an ink pad.  The colors I used were Royal, Pansy, Raspberry and Pixie.  I demonstrated how to create the puddle pad on a FB Live when I created the next set of cards.  That video is here.

I also embellished my cards with flowers I stamped & diecut from the same set of stamps.  There's tons of texture and dimension on these cards.  I mounted them on Royal purple card fronts and accented with the Gold Woven Leaves, Adhesive Backed Gold Heart Sequins and Brass Butterflies.

For my 4th set of cards, I used the Marbled Elegance collection. It's also an online exclusive that launched this November.  This piece of cardstock that I stamped on is smaller than the ones from the Happy Hibiscus sets. It's not going to cover the card front.  I did this so more of the background paper on the card front would show.  This was also puddle pad stamping and I used Ink Refills in Scarlet, Candy Apple and Flamingo from Close to My Heart. I did this on a Facebook live on my FB page here.

I followed up my first Facebook live with a peek at the finished cards.  It's quick and less than 4 minutes.  You can see it here.

The 4 card wonder is a great way to make a set of cards that are cohesive, work well as a set but yet are still unique.  If you like stamping, this is a fun activity.

Recent Artwork from January and late last year

My January artwork was lacking because I threw out my back in late December.  Sitting upright wasn't happening.  Luckily I had most of the Serenity Card Workshop Your Way already cut out and I added some new stamps and colors.  As of right now, that kit is still available. (while supplies last)

This card and the next have sentiments from Make It Happen E1061 a goal oriented stamp set.  I used Pale Pink Shades Tri-Blend marker on the flowers.

This card was colored with Dull Green Tri-Blend Marker and Antique Pink TriBlend™ Marker.

After the chaos at the Capitol, I created this card with our Happiness Lives Here papers and an older, but still available stamp Angel Hugs.  I used Texture Paste & a heart stencil on the card base it's pretty hard to see in this photo.

This card was really fun to make, but one that sat on my desk unfinished for quite a while.  I diecut the front of this card in Desert Rose Glitter paper & White Daisy Cardstock.  The front is just the lacy panel.  I sandwiched them together and attached the back panel that's solid.

This is a fairly simple card that uses leftovers of the Serenity Card Workshop, the Serenity Cardmaking Stamp & Thin Cuts Z3905 and the 3D Flower Thin Cuts Z3691 with Blue Belle Glitter Paper Z3442 and Blue Belle Glitter Gems Z7001.  Our cardstock is double sided with a lighter side on the back.  That flower is cut 2x from the same sheet of cardstock.  Blue Belle is the CTMH Color of the Year!

This last card is has the December Stamp of the Month, but features Sundance--our new Gold-yellow in the cardstock and the shimmer brush used on the flowers as well as Cinnamon Cardstock and ink.  The bow is our Small Bow Thin Cut which makes a blow that's just over 3.5" wide.  We also have a Large Bow that makes a bow that's 7" wide.  I'll stick with the small one that's perfect for cardmaking.

These cards featured the December Stamp of the Month but they deserve a mention because there's some from fun techniques.

I colored the gold glitter gems red with our Dark Red Shades Tri-blend marker.  The wood heart is colored with my Candy Apple Shimmer Brush.

I stamped the sentiment on our Fancy Bracket Dies in Cinnamon and then stamped the flowers in 2nd generation Cinnamon.  That's where you ink up the stamp.  Stamp it one time on a scrap of paper to remove most of the ink then on your project for a lighter image.  The heart border created these cute litte heart pieces that I embellished the label with.

I diecut the front of the card base on a diagonal with our "cloud" border die.  Then again with a strip of BlueBelle Glitter paper.  The light blue paper is attached to the inside of the cardbase.

This card idea was taken straight from the catalog!  This is half of a 4" square cut on the diagonal.  So it's very paper efficient.  I splattered the cardbase with Sapphire Shimmer Brush before adhering the pieces.  These Gold Glitter Gems was colored with one of the purple Tri-Blend markers.

Okay, that's all for today!  I hope this gives you some inspiration and happy eye candy!

Comfort & Joy 20 Card Workshop

Hello friends,
I want to share with you my 20 card workshop I created with the all-new Comfort & Joy paper pack with stickers.  Using just half of a paper pack with the stickers, I was able to create 20 beautiful cards that are unique.  No repeats!  Since there's only 1 sheet of stickers in a paper pack, I used the rest of the paper plus the Comfort & Joy Gold Glitter Diecuts X7261E to embellish 20 additional cards.

With Close to My Heart's gorgeous double sided papers, I'm able to swap papers to create two unique cards from the same design.  This workshop is a dream to cut.  There's a a little bit extra paper so you won't end up short and lots of simple cuts.

For this workshop you'll want to order the following:

You will also need
2 sheets of Scarlet Cardstock
1 sheet of Avocado Cardstock
4-6 sheets of White Daisy Cardstock for Diecuts
Thin 3D foam Tape

When you place a $25 order on my website or join as one of my downline, you'll receive the cutting & assembly guide for free.

If you would like to teach this workshop as a consultant, you may purchase the cutting guide & consultant release for $10 below.
