Easter 3D cards with Doodlebug Designs Paper

Easter is right upon us and I've forgotten to post the adorable cards I made early last month.  These cute cards each deserve their own post but I don't want to delay getting them up on my blog any longer.

I have been teaching my Seasonal Sampler workshop at Lila's Scrapbooking & More, my local scrapbook store here in Everett.  With tons of Close to My Heart products in my stash and new product coming every few months, I'm hardly tempted.  But I'm a sucker for cute chicks, lambs and bunnies.  To compromise, I created 3 cards for Lila to showcase in her store during the Northwest Paper Chase which ended last weekend.

The paper, including the cardstock is from Doodlebug Design.  It's the Easter Parade design.  As of this afternoon, Lila still had a few more sticker sheets and a bit more of paper in stock.

These cards were so easy to make.  Lots of vibrant paper, a little bit of cutting and no fussy cutting! No stamping and only 1 Cricut cut.  My main tool was the paper trimmer!

Here's the first card in a box I created.

When folded, it's 5.x5" square.  You can make these cards any size.
As with my samplers, I used corn starch on the back of the stickers to make them a simple die-cut.

Here's a top view. You can tell that this box will fold flat.

Box Card #2 featured 2 lambs and the birds.  I inked the edges of all of my cardstock pieces with Desert Sand CTMH Exclusive Inks.

My favorite is the bendi or bendy card.

They're really quite simple and don't require any more paper than a single fold card.
My card is 5.5" square.  They can be any size you want.  Start with the envelope you want to use and scale it down from there.
Instead of cutting a slot for each "arm" of the card to slide into, I used my embellishments and 3D Foam Tape to hold the arm.
You can see the chicks are doing the "work."  This one is even bent a little.

The word "Easter" was part of the stickers.  I used the old Cricut Cartridge Cuttin' Up to cut the word "Hoppy."

I'm working on more bendi cards this week, with the new Blossom paper that is new on my website as of today!

Happy Easter!

Last Hurrah for Hopscotch

Here's one of my favorite cards I've made this year.  It was so incredibly simple!

If you want to make a similar card, hurry, the paper & one of the stamp sets is being discontinued at the end of the month.

I finally broke out my spray pens that I bought nearly 4 years ago and used them with reinkers.  I spritzed my card base a couple times and let it dry before assembling my card.

My spray pen contained Rubbing Alcohol up to the next to last tic mark on the CTMH spray pen.  I added a couple drops of Pacifica Reinker and then filled it to the next line with Glacier Reinker. (no water was added) Super simple!

Rubbing alcohol dries quicker and does not absorb into the paper fiber as much so it doesn't warp your paper nearly as much.

Now back to the last hurrah!
Our Seasonal Expressions 1 mini-catalog is coming to an end on 3/31.

Hopscotch papers and embellishments will be gone.
and

Not only is this stamp set a ton of fun but $3 of every full priced stamp set purchased will be donated to Operation Smile.

The feathers are from C1584 "Feathers"
There's 5 different feather shapes.  I chose one with a smooth outline so minimize cutting time. This stamp set will be available for a bit longer.

Confetti Wishes Birthday Seasonal Sampler

Here's my latest Seasonal Sampler!  This one isn't "seasonal" but to celebrate birthdays in your family.

This sampler includes a banner!
The center is interchangeable between Birthday Girl and Birthday Boy.
They are attached using the CTMH Hook & Loop Dots and are included in your kit.

To use up leftover stickers, paper scraps and embellishments, I designed 4 cards.  When I say paper scraps, I'm not referring to the rest of the paper packet, I'm really meaning the scraps leftover from cutting this project.  I can easily get 2-3 full kits per paper pack.  This project took a little more paper than usual because of the banner.  Each kit will need its own set of compliments.

Here's the cards.

This last one will say "Happy Birthday."  I forgot to add the sentiment before photographing.

Pretty Petals {with CDS link}

One of my favorite stamp sets from the 2014 Annual Inspirations is Pretty Petals.  It's Cricut compatible so I'm in love!

I paired Pretty Petals with the Hopscotch papers.  This is one of my favorite card sketches since it can showcase 4 of the 6 patterns in a paper pack.  The strips are cut at 3.5" x 1."  The top Glacier piece is 4 x 1.75.  The shimmer trim covers up any uneven strips for a flawless look.  It's also great for using up scraps unless you're cutting it for a workshop!

Here's the Pretty Petals C1599 Stamp Set.  See the red outlines?  They show the corresponding Art Philosophy shape and what size to cut it.
Hide the shapes you don't want or you can quickly cut them all.

Hopscotch and the Junebug Puffies are here for only 4 months.  They'll be disappearing no later than March 31, 2015.  Get them here before they're gone!

March Seasonal Sampler

It's time to order your spring seasonal sampler!   We'll be making this one in March but it could last through most of the spring months!

The March sampler is bursting with color, dimension and texture!  We'll be using the CTMH Brushed paper pack and Vellum Complements, Junebug Puffies, Green & Pink glitter papers, Adhesive Springs and the Slate Striped Twist Ties.

The bunny is on a spring so he hops!

We'll be making a beautiful rolled rose for the center of the cross.  It and the bunny are cut from the Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge.  This sampler covers the March winds, St. Patrick's Day, April Showers, Easter and Spring itself!

If you'd rather not have a hopping bunny or Easter cross on the sampler, I've designed a 10th sampler square with a tree.  This pic was taken with my cell phone.  With a little patience of applying 3D foam tape under the branches and better lighting, your square will look 10 times better!

This tree features the Junebug Puffies, which are dimensional glittery stickers. They're only available through March 31, 2015 but they may sell out early.  Be sure to order them before it's too late!

To use up a bit of the scraps and most of the remaining vellum complements, we'll also make 4 cards.

The kit is $23.  If you are ordering the kit to go, you will receive illustrated instructions in your email.  I can

My workshop is on Saturday, February 28th at 7pm.
